Why Adopt from Us?
Am I ready to adopt a dog?
Things you might be thinking about are: Do I have enough time for a dog? Do you work long hours away from home? Do you have someone that can take care of your dog if you need to travel? Can you afford the daily needs, such as food, treats, toys, shelter, and basic medical expenses. Do I have an environment for a new dog, such as fenced yard, place for it to sleep and play?
Are there qualifications to adopt a dog?
The adopter must be at least 18 years old. Adopter must be able to provide proper food, water, adequate shelter, regular exercise, companionship and kind treatment at all times.
How much does it cost to adopt a dog?
The adoption fee at Easy Street is $100.00 and includes current vaccinations, spay/neuter, identification microchip, and current monthly preventative treatments, such as heartworm, intestinal parasites, and fleas/ticks.
For adopters over 60 years old, the adoption fee is only $50.
What are some of the basic medical expenses?
Taking my dog to the veterinarian for examinations and immunizations as needed, and to procure immediate veterinary care should the animal become ill or injured.
Other things my dog might need.
Dogs in need of homes come in a full array of sizes, shapes, and personalities. They can also have drastically different needs. When potential owners do their homework, they can find pets whose needs best match their abilities and lifestyles.
All dogs need some basic training to learn how to be part of your family.

What does it mean to foster?
A foster family takes a dog from our shelter into their home. The dog will learn to be part of a family to help prepare him for a permanent home.
Other foster families take in a foster to give a dog a place to recover from a medical issue.
What do we do for the dog?
We provide all medical treatments, vaccinations, and food.
What is the foster's responsibility?
Fosters are expected to provide basic care and integrate the animal in a family atmosphere.
What are the foster's medical responsibilities?
We take care of the financial responsibility. However, the foster’s need to take the foster dog to the veterinarian (ideally one partner clinics) for examinations and immunizations as needed, and to procure immediate veterinary care should the animal become ill or injured.
How long is a foster obligation?
Each foster relationship differs. The term can depend upon the animal’s or shelter’s needs. Short-term fosters might be when the shelter does not have space for another animal. Other foster terms might be longer due to a recuperation time for an animal after a medical treatment.
What happens if I fall in love with my foster?
This is called a “Foster Fail” and you have FAILED your mission, AWESOME JOB! You are in good company. Many of our fosters have decided they can’t live without their foster dog and have adopted it.
